It's just very odd to not be able to crouch in a third person shooter. I imagine it'd make for more adaptable cover and gameplay. There’s so much cover in these games that taking cover behind a short object is tantamount to crouching. Crouching would really have no advantage however as it’s not a stealth game.

Left CTRL = Sneak. I like the cover system, though. It's nice. Although taking cover in Max Payne 3 felt much better.
Here’s what you have to do: on PlayStation, go into the Settings and Accessibility options. In there, you can switch Circle and R3 off you go. On Xbox, you swap melee and crouch in The Finals in a similar fashion. Head into the Xbox Accessories App and swap the B and Right Stick buttons. That way, you won’t constantly be shooting off melee
