azflyman. Apr 24, 2004. Astoria, OR. tzuktz, I was a Fernandes and Fender dealer in the late 80's. Fernandes made a Jazz that was a copy of a '62 that was phenominal. It was much more true to a real '62 than the MIJ Fenders. At some point Fernandes moved most of their vintage type line manufacturing to Korea.

I often find in some forums that say that the quality of the fender mexico less good, and a lot of that compares with the Squier, even some of them say if Squier better, and if terms of the price was pretty much adrift .. And in my experience, mexico fender made better in terms of sound, playbility, finishing than Squier ..
This a great bass guitar. I own 8 Fender Jazz bass guitars and 2 Fender P-Bass guitars. This is the only non-U.S. made but I'll tell this; There's no noticeable difference between the GLJ, American Standard, American Deluxe other than the Deluxe having an active preamp.
